Technical meeting of IUES 2012 with participants from ITB

Bandung – Today, September 4th 2012, official committee of International University Exchange Seminar (IUES) 2012 held technical meeting for ITB Participants. The technical meeting was held in Room 32 of West Campus-Center  ITB. Fifteen out of twenty participants from ITB came to this technical meeting, while the other five could not come because of particular reasons.

The technical meeting was opened by head of official committee of IUES 2012, Tizar Bijaksana. It was started with self-introducing by both participants and the committee. Then, Tizar explained about the seminar generally. “The objective of this IUES is to generate creative ideas to solve community problems through community economic development that allows multi-discipline collaboration”, he said. Tizar also explained about schedule of the seminar, the speakers for the seminar, any preparation to do, and some general rules for ITB participants during the seminar.

Since the theme of IUES 2012 is “Engaging Community Entrepreneurship Development”, it is to be expected that there will be case study about community entrepreneurship development. The case study will be conducted in two communities which are being developed by two Student Associations in ITB. One is a community which is being developed by mechanical engineering students association (HMM), located in Cipanjalu Village, in North Bandung area. And the other is a community which is being developed by chemical engineering students association (Himatek), located in Pakutandang Village, Ciparay, also in Bandung. Representatives of both students associations also gave brief explanation about the communities in the technical meeting.

ITB executive students’ board, Cabinet of KM-ITB also had its representative come. Azis, the representative, came and gave a little speech for the participants. Azis congratulated the participants for having chance to join IUES with theme of solving community problem. Azis reminded the participants not to forget to learn as much as possible, so then they could spread the knowledge they have to at least their own students association and hopefully also to other students associations.

At last, Tizar closed the technical meeting by making sure that everything clear and participants have no more questions to ask.

FAQ

Q  : During the seminar, we (participants) could not attend any class we should. How about the “letter of permission”?

A  : For ITB participants, LK will make the letter of permission for you. You (participants) should just tell the committee: code of the subject, name of subject, class schedule, and lecturer name.

Q  : What facilities will we have during the seminar?

A  : Snack, Lunch, Transportation cost, Seminar Kit, etc

Q  : What preparations should be made before the seminar?

A  : Actually, no special preparation is required. But you may need to read some materials in order to have more comprehensive knowledge at the seminar. For that purpose, committee has already recommended some paper to read at the technical meeting.

Other than that, you have to make sure that your body is in good condition because schedule of the seminar is pretty tight.
